Opening a Door to Another World - Learning a New Language

When your world gets small, you feel that there is nothing that you haven’t seen before. There is nothing that you haven’t felt before. Your world has lost its magic. For someone who thrives on creativity, to “lose the magic of life” is the beginning of the highway to despair.

It doesn’t have to be that way. What if I told you that there was a way to see things differently, to experience new ideas, and to feel child-like in the love of learning? There is a door to another world available to you by learning another language.

You will find, as I have, that you can experience the joy of learning new words while expressing things differently than in your mother tongue, which gives you a fresh appreciation for your first language. You can add words to your current vocabulary that will provide you with more depth as you speak to others. Some words just can’t be translated, but they are felt.

Translation apps, while helpful, are no substitute for learning from an experienced teacher who is a native speaker in your target language and fluent in your language. I have experience teaching English to Portuguese speakers and Portuguese to English speakers.

Does your church, business or organization want to help bridge these two languages and cultures?
