Many people, due to lack of information or misinformation, believe that diplomas issued in Brazil are not valid in the United States.

This is not true!

Many Brazilians are working and/or studying in the United States, thanks to their diplomas from Brazil. If your diploma was issued with recognition by the MEC (Ministry of Education and Culture) and you are interested in using it in the United States for work or study purposes, what you will need is a curricular adaptation/equivalency process, as the countries in question have different metrics of evaluation and, for this reason, an equivalence evaluation is necessary.

 

Credential evaluations are not free, and applicants are responsible for the cost of the selected service. The cost and the time frame to perform the service will vary according to the complexity of the case and the amount of documentation provided. The entire credentialing process may take weeks to months. Prior to submitting any documents to a credential evaluation service, applicants may also need to obtain English translations of any non-English documents. Applicants should also be aware that the length of validity of the requested report may vary from one member organization to another.
